Tyler grew up in Sheridan and graduated from Sheridan High School before attending the University of Wyoming, where he studied International Relations and Spanish. He received his Master of Fine Arts degree in fiction from New Mexico State University in 2020. He returned home that same year and began working various jobs, while also serving as an adjunct both at Sheridan College and remotely around Wyoming and New Mexico. Over the past year, he has served Sheridan College’s Kooi Library in an interim role, helping ease the transition between Library Directors, and has taught in the English Department.
Tyler is the author of Wyoming: The Next Question to Ask (to Answer) (Finishing Line Press, 2019), form which work was nominated for the Pushcart Prize. His work has been published in Barren Magazine, Tupelo Quarterly, South Dakota Review, EcoTheo Review, High Plains Register, The Coachella Review, and other journals. He also serves as Review Editor for The Shore, an online poetry journal.
Tyler lives with his wife, Breanna, and son, Truman, in Sheridan, where he writes, edits, and teaches.
Tyler is currently a full-time, tenure track English Faculty instructor teaching ENGL 1010, ENGL 0725, and COMM 2010 at Sheridan College. He is a member of the Digital Leaning Support Team, which helps Sheridan College instructors learn and implement best practices in remote learning.
