GEAR UP Wyoming
FREE academic and college-access services for eligible students, seventh grade through college freshman. Middle school and high school students in Sheridan, Johnson, and Campbell Counties may be eligible for the GEAR UP program with NWCCD.
Services include the following:
- College Visits
- Academic Camps
- College Fit Advising
- ACT Test Preparation
- Scholarship Opportunities
- College Application Fee Waivers
- College Freshman Support Services
- Academic Assistance (Including Tutoring)
- Test Fee Waivers (AP Exam, ACT, Accuplacer)
- Workshops, Family Events and One-on-One Services
- Educational Academies (Career Exploration & STEM)
- Financial Aid, College and Scholarship Application Advising
- Academic Planning (CTE, AP and Dual/Concurrent Enrollment Advising)
Our goal is to increase the number of eligible students who are prepared to enter and succeed in post-secondary education. GEAR UP Wyoming is funded through a grant from the U.S. Department of Education totaling $3,430,000 annually with an additional $3,430,000 annually provided by in-kind and scholarship contributions.
