Tammy Aksamit has taught at Sheridan College in the nursing program since the fall of 2019. She teaches second-year students. Her background includes neonatal, women’s health, pediatrics, neonatal flight, nursing professional development, and simulation education. Tammy began her career in 1991 and, throughout the years, obtained and maintained certification in Neonatal nursing since 1995. She was an International Board-Certified lactation consultant who taught BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and STABLE for several years.

She is an advisor for the Sheridan College nursing club and is a member of the nursing testing committee. She is active in her community and serves as Vice-President of the Tongue River Valley Community Center board and is a member of the Tongue River Valley Scholarship board. She holds a PRN position at Sheridan Memorial Hospital in Women’s Health and the hospital education department.
