A.A.S. in Diesel Technology, Northern Wyoming Community College District

Rick Aili has been an instructor at Sheridan College in Diesel Technology since the spring of 2019. Aili has worked on expanding diesel class delivery using new and integrated technologies. Using this new technology to present course content and demonstrations to the classroom provides additional learning modalities to help students develop critical thinking skills by generating ideas and understandings independently. In addition, Rick is constantly challenging his students to come up with answers and apply problem-solving strategies for real-world issues they may encounter during their careers as Diesel Technicians. Rick’s goal is to give students the tools to become successful technicians throughout their college experience.

Rick Started his Diesel Career in 2010 when he graduated high school. Since then, he has received ASE Certification as a Master Automobile Technician, Fluid Power Training Institute – Hydraulic Training Certification, and an AAS in Diesel Technology.

Rick has worked on developing CTE DEMO days, including setting up and adapting the labs for the high school student participants. Also, Rick has worked on Perkins V grant requirements to access equipment funding. Rick has been available to give tours and regularly assists students outside class times. Rick has worked to develop faculty advisor participation and the startup of the Sheridan College SkillsUSA, a student-led leadership organization.
