Alyssa Wright joined Sheridan College as full-time faculty in the fall of 2016. Alyssa’s nursing career has primarily focused on community health. She worked for numerous years as a public school nurse caring for children from kindergarten through high school. At this point, Alyssa determined that she loved nursing and teaching. Her love of working with families with diabetes led her to pursue her Certified Diabetes Educator credential and Master’s in Nursing Education. These experiences shaped her nursing career to educate and empower others. She hopes to pass this on to future nurses.

Since her time at Sheridan College, Alyssa has served as chair of the nursing department’s Systematic Program Evaluation (SPE) committee, acting as nursing class advisor and mentoring new faculty members. Additionally, she was part of the team that built and implemented a new statewide nursing curriculum launched in the fall of 2019. Alyssa is currently serving as Faculty Senator for the Health Sciences Department.

Alyssa is married with two children. She enjoys the outdoors through all the seasons Wyoming has to offer, spending time with family, and reading a good suspense novel.
