Sheridan College’s Music Technology Certificate of Completion program features state-of-the-art recording studios and technology, expert faculty, and a hands-on curriculum that prepares you to launch your music career or helps you transfer to advanced music programs nationwide.

Our Music Technology Certificate centers on recording arts, including digital audio production and editing. It also covers music engraving, performance, and self-promotion.

Your courses will include Intro to Music Technology, Techniques for Live Sound, Music Portfolio, and more. After graduating with your Music Technology Certificate, you will understand MIDI implementation, synthesis, computer-generated notation, and multimedia integration.

For students planning to study music performance, education, composition, theory, or musicology, our Music Technology Certificate can enhance your degree and career options. For students pursuing non-music degrees, no prior music training is necessary to participate in Sheridan College’s Music Technology Program. Traditional music notation literacy can be helpful but not required. All you need to get started is an interest in using technology to create and record music.

World-Class Facilities

As a music student, you will have the opportunity to earn your music degree in one of the nation’s premier music education centers, the new Whitney Center for the Arts at Sheridan College. The WCA, a $20 million facility, includes a recital and performance space, recording studios to enhance your music portfolio, classrooms, and a 422-seat concert hall.
