Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) – Basic Training Course

Emergency Medical Technicians are the first to respond to emergency situations, and people’s lives often depend on their quick action and competent care. This occupation is expected to grow 15% by 2026, much faster than average.

This five-credit course gives you the comprehensive medical training you need to become a certified EMT. Students develop a working knowledge of emergency medical services and acquire skills to provide care for the sick and injured in a pre-hospital environment. This course follows the Wyoming Office of Emergency Medical Services guidelines for certification as an EMT and is aligned to the current National Emergency Medical Services Education Standards.

Who Can Enroll?

The EMT course at NWCCD is available to anyone 18 years of age or older. Students must have a current Healthcare Provider-Level CPR Card.

Certification Process

Following completion of the course, students are eligible to take the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) exam to become a certified EMT and go through the license application process.
