Jazz @ SC
The Arts at Sheridan College presents Jazz @ SC directed by Dr. Eric Richards, on Friday, March 22nd at 7pm in Kinnison Hall at the Whitney Center for the Arts at Sheridan College.
This free concert will include the SC Jazztet Combo and the SC Jazz Ensemble Big Band.
The Spring ‘24 Jazztet Combo features Sheridan College Music faculty members Jake Hirschman (guitar), McKay Fleck (bass), Amanda Allyn (vocals), and Dr. Eric Richards (trombone/piano), as well as Sheridan High School senior Henry Craft on drums. The SC Jazz Ensemble will present a variety of styles from Chuck Booker’s “For the Love” (featuring Avi Bergman on trumpet) to Louis Armstrong’s “What a Wonderful World,” featuring the vocals of music major Mathew Tipich, who is on track to graduate with an Associate of Fine Arts degree this spring from Sheridan College.
The program will also include a Sheridan premiere of Richards’ “Snarkitude,” which he wrote for the 2024 Wyoming All-State Jazz Ensemble.
