Federal Work Study

The Federal Work-Study (FWS)Program is federally subsidized through the Department of Education that allows NWCCD to provide part-time employment opportunities to students with financial need. FWS positions are offered on-campus and off-campus at nonprofit organizations. The Financial Aid Office will notify students of their FWS eligibility through their financial aid offer letter. Students receive a paycheck just like any other job. If a student does not meet the eligibility requirements of Federal Work-Study, the student is eligible to work in a Student Employment position and be paid through NWCCD.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Complete the FAFSA application
  • Meet Satisfactory Academic Progress per federal regulations
  • Must have unmet financial aid need

Students can access NWCCD’s student employment information site located within our intranet, NWCCD Hub>Financial Life>Student Employment, to find specific job descriptions and application instructions.
