This beginning backpacking course is great for someone who is comfortable outdoors but has never backpacked or who has limited backpacking experience. We have equipment to use so there is no need to have anything of your own. We will cover safety, route planning, outdoor ethics, equipment, food and hydration. The class will culminate in a 2-3 day backpacking trip in the Bighorn Mountains. You will pack your own 30-40 pound backpack for several miles, so you must be physically able to do this.
