Math Coordinator, Math and Statistics Instructor
Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, Creighton University (2000) Master of Science in Statistics, Colorado State University (2005)
I have been teaching math and statistics at Sheridan College since the fall of 2005, and I have also been the math coordinator for the entire college district for the past 6 years. I have prior teaching experience at both the high school and university level, but I think that the community college setting is the perfect fit for me. During my time at Sheridan College I have served on a wide variety of committees and have been involved in many collaborative projects and activities with faculty and students in other programs. From 2006-2015, I also volunteered my time as an advisor for Phi Theta Kappa (the college’s honor society). I enjoy working with all the faculty and staff at the college, but most of all I cherish the interactions with all the students I have had the privilege of teaching and mentoring throughout the years. My goal is to help all students get a rewarding learning experience and be successful, while preparing them for the next stage in their life.
I was born in Laramie, WY, but was raised in Sheridan for most of my life, graduating from Sheridan High School in 1996. My wife, Melanie, is also from Sheridan, so it is nice to be living in our hometown near many relatives and raising our family in this great community. We have two boys – Ethan and Blake – who are both in grade school and definitely keep us busy, especially with all their extracurricular activities. We also have a chocolate lab, Kali, who is great with the kids. Most of my “free” time is spent with family and friends, enjoying the outdoors (skiing, fishing, hiking and golfing) or taking in a sporting event.
