GEAR UP Wyoming

FREE academic and college-access services for income-eligible students, seventh grade through college freshman. Middle school and high school students in Sheridan, Johnson, and Campbell Counties may be eligible for the GEAR UP program with Northern Wyoming Community College District. GEAR UP Wyoming services are provided to GEAR UP students attending the following schools:

The goal is to increase the number of eligible students who are prepared to enter and succeed in post-secondary programs. GEAR UP Wyoming is funded through a grant from the U.S. Department of Education totaling $4,019,424 annually with an additional $4,019,424 annually provided by in-kind and scholarship contributions.

Services include the following:

  • College Fit Advising
  • ACT Test Preparation
  • Scholarship Opportunities
  • College Application Fee Waivers
  • College Freshman Support Services
  • Academic Assistance (Including Tutoring)
  • Test Fee Waivers (AP Exam, ACT, Accuplacer)
  • Workshops, Family Events, and One-on-One Services
  • Educational Academies (Career Exploration & STEM)
  • Financial Aid, College, and Scholarship Application Advising
  • Academic Planning (CTE, AP, and Dual/Concurrent Enrollment Advising)
