Performing Arts & Education Center
For over a decade, Sheridan College, the City of Sheridan, and the WYO Theater had a vision to expand the original WYO Theater to create a regional performing arts center in the heart of downtown Sheridan. With the support of local foundations and individuals, as well as the State of Wyoming, their dream has become a reality.

Overview
Featuring two theaters, the main WYO Theater seats 483 in a traditional auditorium. The proscenium stage is complete with a full fly system, newly added wing space on either side of the stage, newly updated sound technologies and full lighting capabilities.

Main Stage (Sophie’s Stage)
The WYO Performing Arts and Education Center houses two theaters. The main WYO Theater seats 483 in a traditional auditorium. The proscenium stage is complete with a full fly system, newly added wing space on either side of the stage, newly updated sound technologies and full lighting capabilities.
Dance Studios, Green Room, & Lobby
The most recent expansion, completed in November 2017, added a dance studio, green room, and an expanded lobby and box office to the WYO Performing Arts and Education Center. This greatly improved the functionality of the theater and provided a dedicated space for Sheridan College’s Dance students.

Mars Black Box Theater
The Mars Black Box Theater, located to the south of the building, was added in 2014 and offers an experimental, intimate theater space. This flexible venue can be set up in any configuration, including traditional, three-quartered or in-the-round seating, perfect for students to learn all types of theater production. The all-black theater is outfitted with acoustic diffuser panels, full lighting and sound capabilities, and storage space.
