Sheridan College Dance Ensemble presents “Thread”
The Sheridan College Dance presents “Thread,” on Friday, April 19 at 7 pm in Kinnison Hall at the Whitney Center for the Arts.
This is free and open to the public.
According to Sheridan College Dance Instructor Stephanie Koltiska, the dance ensemble consists of seven dance majors who come from diverse backgrounds, from traditional college age students to dancers who are coming back after years of stepping away from studying the art form.
This spring show is a combination of her work, student choreography, as well as some original group work that will premiere at the show. Koltiska and the dance ensemble worked with BW Creative’s Brandon Welch during his time in Sheridan last fall.
Another key feature of the evening will be a special, live piano performance by Sheridan High School student Anna Mullinax. Mullinax will play an original song on-stage as the dancers perform, which Koltiska said will “leave you truly moved.”
“It is going to be a really great show,” Koltiska said. “I’m extremely proud of this group of students.”
Koltiska is a Wyoming native, but her dance career has taken her across the United States. After earning her degree in Seattle, she moved to San Fransisco and then later to New York. She has performed world-renowned works by famous choreographers and has taught dance in small studios, universities, and professional companies from across the country.
