Wyoming Works provides programs and resources for adult students to learn a skill and secure employment. The program makes available individual grants for students enrolling in approved programs at a Wyoming community college. It also provides a mechanism for colleges to apply for resources in support of the creation of high-demand programs.

The Wyoming Works grant can help you pay for training that leads to a good job.

Who is eligible for a Wyoming Works Grant?

  • Must complete the FAFSA every year
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident alien who meets the definition of an eligible noncitizen under federal Title IV financial aid requirements
  • Must be a Wyoming resident
  • As required, must be registered with the selective service
  • Must maintain satisfactory academic progress (SAP) in the program of study
  • Must not be currently receiving or eligible to receive the Hathaway scholarship
  • Must not be currently in default on a federal Title IV education loan
  • Must not owe a refund under a federal Title IV student financial aid program or a subsequently enacted similar federal student financial aid program, or a student financial aid program administered through the State of Wyoming

Maximum annual grant eligibility:

  • Wyoming Works Standard Grant will be up to $840 per semester (up to $1,680 annually)
  • Wyoming Works Critical Grant will be up to $1,680 per semester (up to $3,360 annually)

Eligible students may receive the grant for up to six semesters. Individual program award amounts may vary, specifically for programs that are less than a semester in length.

The maximum award amount is based on remaining financial need after considering all other sources of financial assistance. The Financial Aid Office shall determine a student’s initial and continued grant eligibility.
