YouScience and Career Assessment

Are you undecided about what major to go into or what career to explore? You are not alone. Many new college students start as undeclared majors or as General Studies majors. Did you know up to 80 percent of students change or consider changing their majors before earning a degree? And career planning is life planning. Your career decisions affect your lifestyle, your health, and your overall sense of satisfaction and happiness. The

average American worker will change careers four or more times over the course of their lives.

YouScience is an online interactive, self-guided career and education planning system designed to help you make decisions about your future career goals and education plans.

Their interactive process will help guide you by the following:

  1. Assess your career planning readiness, work interests, values, skills, personality type, and leisure time interests.
  2. Broaden your career options and discover occupations matching your personal preferences and attributes.
  3. Discover and explore career fields, majors, and training programs that are best for you.
  4. Plan a career and educational pathway that will support your personal needs and goals.

Career Fair

Every year, Sheridan College partners with the Sheridan VA Health Care System and Wyoming Department of Workforce Services to bring to the area a top-notch Career/Job Fair.  The Fair has free admissions for employers, students, and job seekers. However, employers must register to participate. The Fair will be set up in an exhibit-style format in the Golden Dome on Sheridan College Campus for individuals to meet and network with employers.  Individuals will be looking for jobs, internships, co-op opportunities, seasonal jobs, and opportunities to learn more about area businesses.  Onsite interview space will be available for employers to use as space permitting. Employer Registration is free; however, we are offering career fair sponsorships if you would like to get greater visibility with the attendees.

Gold Sponsorship will give an employer exposure with our social media promotion, organization logo on the cover of the directory that will be handed out to attendees the day of the fair, as well as on other promotion materials and the TV screens throughout the College, recognition at the Career Fair, and two lunch meals.

Platinum Sponsorship will give an employer all the offerings from the Gold Sponsorship as well as first choice of table location, electricity, larger space, and two additional lunch meals (for a total of four lunch meals).

Our Annual Career Fair is typically scheduled for the last Wednesday in April. To participate, get more information, or if you have any questions, please contact Karen St Clair.
