The industry’s incredible growth has generated a variety of security threats that place companies’ and their customers’ information at risk. Increasing threats have created high demand for trained professionals who can set up, implement, and maintain company- or organization-wide security programs. NWCCD’s Cyber Security Associate of Science and Certificate of Completion program, offered at Gillette College and Sheridan College, will prepare you to join this in-demand field.
Security analysts use problem-solving skills in order to investigate threats, hacks and breaches, determine the causes and modify or repair security systems. With security threats and cyber attacks occurring across the globe, trained Cyber Security analysts are in high demand for businesses and organizations in the public and private sectors. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statics predicts that by 2022 more than 27,000 new jobs will be added to the information security analyst field, an increase of 37%.
Cyber Security analysts implement security strategies and measures to protect an organization’s data, information, networks and systems. NWCCD’s Associate of Science and Certificate of Completion options in Cyber Security are designed to help you thrive in today’s computer industry. You will be equipped to help companies and organizations protect their systems, data, networks, and information. As a security professional, your responsibilities may vary from developing and implementing information security plans to monitoring security measures and ensuring appropriate security controls are in place. You will also be tasked with researching the latest trends in data security. NWCCD’s Cyber Security program is designed to make sure you have those skills and more.
NWCCD’s industry-standard curriculum uses tools and techniques embraced by TestOut, CompTIA, Cisco, and Microsoft to help you become a valuable asset to any company. You will learn from expert faculty to develop information security strategies, perform risk analyses, install security software, monitor network traffic, develop emergency response plans, and more.
