Sheridan College and Sheridan VA team up for Veterans Day Ceremony

Sheridan College, in partnership with Sheridan VA Medical Center, will host a ceremony to honor those who have served in the Armed Forces on Monday, Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. in Kinnison Hall at Whitney Center for the Arts. This event is free and open to the public.

This year’s keynote speaker will be retired U.S. Marine Corps Colonel Brent Bien, who completed his military service Oct. 1. In addition, the ceremony will feature music by the Sheridan College Brass Ensemble and essays by Tongue River Middle School students. A reception in the Whitney Academic Center atrium will follow the ceremony.

“We invite the Sheridan community to join us for Veterans Day at Sheridan College,” said Sheridan College Veterans Advisor Tyler Jensen. “It’s a great opportunity to show your support for our veterans, thank them for their service and take a moment to pay tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.”

Sheridan College and the Sheridan VA have previously held separate ceremonies on their respective campuses, but this year’s partnership provides an opportunity for a larger community event to honor veterans.
