While the annual Rope for Knowledge event was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Johnson County residents still have the opportunity to apply for scholarships until August 1. Any Johnson County resident interested in attending a Northern Wyoming Community College District location, including Sheridan College in Johnson County, Sheridan College, or Gillette College, is eligible.
Scholarships are available to full or part-time students pursuing higher education and preference is given to those attending Sheridan College in Johnson County. Up to $500 may be awarded per semester. Applicants and past recipients may reapply for subsequent semesters.
“Any Johnson County resident who is planning to pursue college at any Northern Wyoming Community College District location is encouraged to apply online or drop by the Bomber Mountain Civic Center for an application,” said Director of Sheridan College in Johnson County Derek Andrews.
The Johnson County Advisory Board and benefactors distributes and administer scholarships. Apply online at www.sheridan.edu/about/johnson-county/ by August 1 for the fall semester and December 1 for the spring semester. Spring classes at all NWCCD locations begin on Aug. 24.
