Sheridan College Museum of Discovery Science Lecture Series presents:
Climate Disruption: [Health] Disaster or Opportunity? Drs. Lori and Robert Byron, Internist and Pediatrician, respectively Thurs., Dec 5th 7:00PM Mars Agriculture Center (MAC) 201 Free to the Public
Climate change is affecting people’s health now in a very negative way with projections for those impacts to worsen. Moving to renewables away from fossil fuels is one of the recommended solutions. But having a job with good income is one of the most important factors connected to good health. Can we resolve moving to renewables and replacing jobs associated with fossil fuels? Drs. Rob and Lori Byron will discuss the health impacts of climate disruption, solutions and considerations. No one has all the answers, but come join the discussion.
Drs. Robert and Lori Byron, an internist and pediatrician, respectively, worked on the Crow Reservation in Montana for over two decades each. Robert is a former Governor of the Montana American College of Physicians, and Lori a former President of the Montana American Academy of Pediatrics. Lori sits on the American Academy of Pediatrics Council on Environmental Health. They recently helped found the Montana Health Professionals for a Healthy Climate.
