Originally from Rapid City, South Dakota, Ryan Landis joins the Whitney Center for the Arts in August of 2019 after five years as an Instructor of Voice at Mississippi State University. While there he was the Operations Manager for the Starkville – MSU Symphony for the 2016/17 and 2017/18 seasons. Prior to that, he served seven years with an international non-profit based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia where he oversaw project coordination, internship training, and team development.
As a performer he has made appearances with the Natchez Festival of Music, The Black Hills Playhouse, the Tuscaloosa Symphony, the Starkville – MSU Symphony, the University of Alabama Opera Theatre, and the University of South Dakota Opera.
A strong believer in arts outreach and education, Ryan has presented on “Reimagining Opera Outreach,” and as an outreach artist has had the joy of performing for audiences ranging from PreK – High School students to residents in nursing homes.
He is a proud graduate of the University of Alabama, and is excited about working with artists, educators, and arts enthusiasts in Sheridan and throughout the region. Outside the office, you can find Ryan on the never-ending quest for the perfect cup of coffee, and hopefully taking in the beautiful nature and cooler weather Sheridan has to offer.
