XIX International Hemingway Conference
Maybe people are still unaware of Hemingway’s connections with Wyoming and Montana. The International Hemingway Conference is coming to Sheridan, WY and Cooke City, MT to focus on those connections. There is an option for the local public to take part via Wyoming / Montana specific registration options.
Here is a preliminary schedule of events for the Sheridan portion of the conference:
Sunday, July 17, 2022 – Beginning of the Sheridan Portion of the Conference Noon – 5.00pm Conference Check-In at Sheridan College, Whitney Building. 1:00pm – 1:30pm Art Exhibit 2:00pm – 2:30pm Welcome by Hemingway Society
Author Presentations 2:45pm – 3:15pm Judy Slack 3:30pm – 4:00pm Robert Elder (Neltje’s Student Gallery) 4:15pm – 4:45pm Darla Worden 4:45pm — Dinner on your own 5:15 pm – Cocktail hour with Darla Worden, Kooi Library on campus, join the author of Cockeyed Happy for “Frenemies,” a brief presentation on the journey of Hemingways first two wives followed by drinks and conversation. Featuring the artwork of Tyrel Johnson. Free & open to the public.
Monday, July 18, 2022 8:30am -11:45pm Academic Sessions at Sheridan College Campus 11:45am – 1:30pm Lunch on your own 1:30pm – 4:30pm Academic Sessions and Special Presentations, at Sheridan College Campus 4:30pm – 8:30pm PEN/Hemingway Fundraiser at Sheridan College, featuring 2013 PEN/Hemingway and National Book Award Finalist, Kevin Powers author of The Yellow Birds. BBQ and drink tickets.
Tuesday, July 19, 2022 8:30am -11:45am Academic Sessions at Sheridan College Campus 11:45am – 1:30pm Lunch on your own 1:30pm – 4:30pm Academic Sessions and Special Presentations at Sheridan College Campus 5:00pm – 9:30pm Hemingway’s “ Wine of Wyoming” at Sheridan College — Food, Music, a Reading by actor A Martinez and Keynote by Craig Johnson, author of The Longmire Series.
