Opportunities abound across the foodservice industry. NWCCD Culinary Arts graduates have taken jobs in a variety of places, from Alaska to the Denver Broncos’ High Mile Stadium in Colorado. With the skills you learn in our student-run restaurant, the Wyoming Culinary Institute in Sheridan, Wyoming, you will be prepared to thrive in today’s culinary arts around the world. As demand for quality, healthy foods rises, you will have the ability to pursue industry opportunities locally, regionally, nationally, and even internationally. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts more than 146,500 new chef and head cook jobs will be added between 2016 and 2026, a 10% increase.
The demand for competent, well-trained cooks in today’s workforce is growing. The culinary arts profession is a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment. There are three American Culinary Federation Executive Chefs in Wyoming—two are faculty members at NWCCD.

Add in affordable costs that are a fraction of other culinary arts schools and the NWCCD Culinary Arts Associate of Applied Science and Certificate of Completion program is a top choice for aspiring chefs, cooks and culinary arts professionals. Our Culinary Arts program is led by highly qualified instructors. Our instructors bring over 40 years of combined experience to the classroom and kitchen. You will learn classical and foundational methods to prepare food items, as well as study more contemporary methods and current, real-world applications. You will get to cook and enjoy all the delicious food while in class, too.
The NWCCD Culinary Arts program will help you gain industry relevant knowledge, certifications and credentials, enhancing your career opportunities and portfolio. You will have the opportunity to work in our Wyoming Culinary Institute, a student-run restaurant near Sheridan College’s campus. NWCCD also works closely with areas restaurants to provide our students jobs and internship opportunities, helping you graduate with real-world experience.
