About Gillette College
As part of the Northern Wyoming Community College District, Gillette College, a two-year college, is proud to offer our strategic vision to help every student earn a degree. Our students earn Certificates of Completion (CoC), Associate of Arts (AA), Associate of Science (AS), or Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degrees and study a breadth of subjects, such as Business, Education, and Nursing. Our Career and Technical programs are both popular and a pillar of the local community. Many of our students easily transfer to four-year colleges, thanks to the superb education and advising they receive at Gillette College.
Gillette College is located in the Powder River Basin which produces about 40% of the nation’s coal and is known as the Energy Capital of the World.
Our Community and Campus
Gillette College thrives because of our community. Local citizens and private donors as well as city, county, and state municipalities joined forces to invest in our highly regarded school, bringing a plethora of educational opportunities to the region.
The Pronghorn Center was completed in the fall of 2016. The $18.6 million building was funded through Campbell County, the State of Wyoming, and private donors. It offers a 52,000 ft2 facility. Highlights of the new space include a 1,800-seat athletic venue, a hardwood court, a nursing simulation lab, flexible classrooms, a center for student veterans, and a fitness center.
This is an exciting time for Gillette College and higher education in our region. The support we have received from the Campbell County Commissioners, the State and our local community will allow us to provide future Gillette College students with an outstanding facility that will merit excellence in both academics and athletics and enrich the overall college experience.
