Wyoming Simulation Center

In the Sheridan College Broadway Center
The Wyoming Simulation Center, located within the Broadway Center, serves the hands-on needs of the Sheridan College Health Sciences programs. The Sim Center houses a replicated six-bed clinic, a classroom, and two high-fidelity mannequins that respond to treatment in real time. The Simulation Center was made possible by a partnership between Sheridan College and Sheridan Memorial Hospital.

Developing hands-on clinical skills

The center features a six-bed patient ward with nursing station, functioning medication room with Pyxis, two high-fidelity rooms, and a 24-seat classroom. The high-fidelity rooms are able to record scenarios for student or teacher review. Simulation in a safe, controlled environment enhances acute critical thinking processes and multitasking skills needed to develop well-rounded, confident, and competent clinical staff.

Serving students and a community of health care providers

In addition to supporting the Heath Science programs, the Sim Center is also a place for community members to get needed health certifications such as Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Cardiac Life Support (PALS), and others. Region high school students even get the opportunity to utilize the Simulation Center and experience health care during the annual Dream Big Summer Camps. The Sim Center is available for other trainings that can be scheduled around college and hospital needs.
