THE VALUE OF LANDSCAPE PAINTING

Course Title: The Value of Landscape Painting

Course #: CS 1006*01

Dates: Aug 26-27

Instructor: Joel Ostlind

Minimum Age: 18 w/ prior painting experience

Max # participants: 12

Location: Spear-O

Participant Cost: $269

Course Description: Having learned how to paint in and around the Bighorn Mountains has been a pleasant and ongoing experience that has kept me very appreciative of mountain scenery.  Everyone in the workshop should do a good-weather-dance so that we could spend our painting time outside in the grand country surrounding Spear-O.  The focus – to plan a nice landscape design with light and dark values so that when the painting begins the big issues have already been worked down to a manageable size.   Any medium is acceptable but, because of its nice, consistent behavior outdoors and my familiarity with it, I would recommend painting with oils.
