SC prepares for construction of Edward A. Whitney Academic Center
Beginning March 19, you will find the Sheridan College admissions, advising, testing and financial aid offices relocated to the Stevens and Williams Lofts located on the north end of the SC campus.
In preparation for construction of the new 53,000 square-foot Edward A. Whitney Academic Center, these offices will be relocated during spring break, March 12-16.
“We are excited about this project, and have done everything we can to ensure minimal disruption to our service to students,” said Vice President for Administration, Cheryl Heath. “We have a great team and will keep the public informed every step of the way. Updates will be posted regularly to www.sheridan.edu/construction.”
Once offices have been relocated, preparations such as salvaging reusable materials, demolition, and site-work will happen prior to the actual groundbreaking which will take place Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at 4:00 p.m.
The general timeline for the project is as follows:

Monday, February 27, 2012 First bid package released (structure, demolition, foundations, site work)
Monday, March 19, 2012 Second bid package released (remaining bid packages related to building construction)
March 12 – 16, 2012 Relocation of student services staff (over spring break)
March 19 – April 6, 2012 Salvage items from student services area before demolition
Wednesday, April 11, 2012 Start demolition student services area
Wednesday, May 9, 2012 Groundbreaking celebration 4:00 pm
Monday, May 16, 2012 Start demolition faculty wing
Tuesday, August 21, 2012 Faculty wing complete
Friday, August 9, 2013 New building complete
