Congratulations on your decision to apply for the Sheridan College Nursing Program! We look forward to helping you achieve your academic and professional goals.

Please read through the list as some steps can occur simultaneously. Feel free to contact us at anytime during this process, we are here to help.

Also, although Sheridan College has Important Dates and Deadlines, make sure you meet the Nursing department’s dates and deadlines. In some cases, you may need to turn in materials much earlier than you would for the general application process.

Step 1

STEP 1: CRITERIA AND PRE-REQUISITES FOR NURSING PROGRAM

  1. Requirements: To make sure that you understand the criteria and have all of the pre-requisites for Nursing, please read and follow all directions for requirements for acceptance. Some requirements specific to the Nursing program are not listed here.

Step 2

STEP 2: APPLY FOR ADMISSIONS

For questions about Step 2, contact Admissions at (307) 674-6446 ext. 2000 or email us at admissions@sheridan.edu.

  1. Requirement: You must be at least 16 years of age.
  2. To Do: Apply Online. There is no application fee.
  3. What to Expect: You will receive an official letter welcoming you to SC within a week once you are admitted. If haven’t received a letter in a week’s time, please contact admissions (307) 674-6446 ext. 2000.
  4.  Deadline: Check Nursing for official deadlines.

Step 3

STEP 3: SUBMIT OFFICIAL COPIES OF COLLEGE TRANSCRIPTS (OTHER THAN SC)

  1. Requirements: Submit official copies of transcripts for any colleges you attended after SC. If SC already has your transcripts from another institution, you can skip this step.

STEP 4: SUBMIT HIGH SCHOOL TRANSCRIPTS OR GED SCORES

    1. Requirements: High School transcripts must be submitted after graduation.
    2. To Do: Submit transcripts.
      If your high school is in Wyoming, please contact your high school and request a copy of your transcripts be faxed to:

Step 5

STEP 5: APPLY FOR FAFSA, SCHOLARSHIPS & FINANCIAL AID

For questions about Step 5, please contact Financial Aid at (307) 674-6446 ext. 2101 or email scfinaid@sheridan.edu.

  1. FAFSA
    1. To Do: All students are encouraged to apply online for federal aid using the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Apply on-line at www.fafsa.ed.gov as early as possible. Use school code 003930 for Sheridan or Gillette Colleges.
    2. Priority Deadline: The institutional deadline is April 1st but check Nursing for any specific deadlines.
  2. Scholarships
    1. Requirements: One scholarship application and one letter.
    2. To Do: All students are encouraged to apply for institutional scholarships by contacting Financial Aid (307) 674-6446 ext. 2100 or email scfinaid@sheridan.edu. Also, you can review different types of scholarships.
    3. Deadline: The institutional deadline is April 1st but check Nursing for any specific deadlines.
  3. Financial Questions and Advising
    1. To Do: For financial aid questions on grants, loans, work-study, scholarships or money management, we are available as a resource and welcome you to contact Financial Aid at (307) 674-6446 ext. 2101 or email scfinaid@sheridan.edu.

Step 6

STEP 6: MEET WITH A FACULTY ADVISOR & REGISTER FOR CLASSES

For questions about Step 6, please contact Advising  at (307) 674-6446 ext. 2000.

  1. Requirement: If you have been selected into the nursing program you will receive a letter of acceptance with further instructions.
  2. To Do: Make an appointment to meet with your faculty advisor to select classes for your course schedule.
  3. Important Dates: Check Nursing for official deadlines.

Step 7

STEP 7: APPLY FOR HOUSING (NOT REQUIRED)

  1. To Do: Follow housing application instructions, complete application and submit $125 deposit fee. It is recommended that students submit their application for housing as soon as possible.

STEP 8: PAY EXPENSES

STEP 9: OBTAIN COLLEGE ID

  1. Requirements: Tuition and expenses need to be paid before obtaining an ID.

STEP 10: BUY BOOKS

STEP 11: ATTEND ORIENTATION

  1. Requirement: Orientation is required for all first-time Sheridan College students registered for 6 or more credit hours, and all degree-seeking candidates. Orientation is highly recommended for high school students.
