Where Do I Begin?
All first-time students at Sheridan College meet with an advisor to select classes for their course schedule. Our friendly advising staff can help you make a smooth transition from admissions and testing to taking classes. We’re happy to work with you personally, one-on-one to answer any questions you have.
What Should be Completed Before Meeting with an Advisor?
You meet with an advisor if:
- You are admitted into SC
- You’ve taken the Compass tests (or submitted ACT scores,)
- You’ve submitted all high school or previous college transcripts
- Complete your Admissions Counseling
If you aren’t sure where you are in the admissions process, please check the application page and follow the pathway that best describes you.
When do I Make an Advising Appointment?
You can make an appointment with an advisor at any time of the academic year.
Do I Meet with an Advisor Every Semester Before Classes Start?
You will meet with your Faculty Advisor during the semester (typically after midterms) to work on your course schedule. The Advising office is always available to help with any questions you might have about selecting the correct classes for graduation. We love visiting with students!
