Where Do I Begin?
All first-time students at Sheridan College meet with a professional academic advisor to select classes for their first term. Our friendly advising staff can help you make a smooth transition from admissions and testing to registering for classes. We’re happy to work with you personally, one-on-one to answer any questions you have.

What Should be Completed Before Meeting with an Academic Advisor?
You meet with an advisor if:

  • You are admitted into SC
  • You’ve taken the Compass tests (or submitted ACT scores,)
  • You’ve submitted all high school or previous college transcripts

If you aren’t sure where you are in the admissions process, please check the application page and follow the pathway that best describes you.

When do I Make an Advising Appointment?
You can make an appointment with an advisor at any time of the academic year.

Do I Meet with an Advisor Every Semester Before Classes Start?
You will meet with your Faculty Advisor during the semester (typically after midterms) to work on your course schedule.  The Advising office is always available to help with any questions you might have about selecting the correct classes for graduation, changing your major or building an educational plan. We love visiting with students!
