Whitney Benefits continues support for nursing program at SC

Sheridan College has been awarded a grant from Whitney Benefits to fund a part-time instructor dedicated to the Certified Nursing Assistant program. College officials estimate that there are 250 CNAs employed throughout Sheridan and Johnson Counties, with an approximate turnover of almost 50 percent in long-term care facilities annually.

NWCCD now offers variety of high school equivalency tests

The Northern Wyoming Community College District, which includes Sheridan College, Gillette College and outreach centers in Johnson County, now offers two tests, the GED and HiSET, all of which meet the standards of high school equivalency. The TASC exam will be available in the middle of the fall semester at NWCCD.

Sheridan College to offer Music Therapy course

Intro to Music Therapy will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays throughout the fall semester, from 10-10:50 a.m. It is a two-credit course taught by board certified music therapist Michele Folster, a graduate of Sheridan College and Utah State University.

Sheridan College to host artist residency at Spear-O-Wigwam

SC presents Shakespeare and Commedia dell’Arte at new Mars Theater

The Sheridan College Theater Department is proud to present a theatrical double feature of William Shakespeare’s “Hamlet” and Gerry Hansen’s Commedia dell’Arte play “Ros & Guild” at the new Mars Theater in Sheridan, Aug. 15-24. Shows are at 7 p.m. Mondays-Saturdays and at 2 p.m. on Sundays.

NWCCD receives Department of Education grant

The Northern Wyoming Community College District has been awarded a grant from the Wyoming Department of Education (WDE) to fund improvements to its distance education programs. The NWCCD is one of two community college districts in Wyoming to receive the grant, according to the WDE.
