Sheridan College presents Wind and Jazz Ensemble

The Sheridan College Department of Music presents the Sheridan Wind Ensemble and Jazz Ensemble in their inaugural concert under the direction of Dr. Eric Richards, SC’s new Director of Bands and Jazz Studies. The concert will take place on Sunday, November 22, 2015, 7:00 pm at the Sheridan High School auditorium.

Dr. Pete Simpson to teach political science class at Sheridan College

Retired historian and former Wyoming politician, Dr. Pete Simpson, will return to Sheridan College during the Spring 2016 Semester to teach a two-credit political science course titled “Wyoming’s Political Identity.” The course is designed to explore the political culture of Wyoming with an eye to discovering what might be special or unique about the political behavior of Wyoming citizens, according to Mercedes Aguirre Batty, Dean of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences.

Sheridan College joins national movement to observe moment of silence

All locations of the Northern Wyoming Community College District (NWCCD), including Sheridan College, Gillette College and Sheridan College in Johnson County will join community college campuses throughout the nation tomorrow in observing a moment of silence to honor the victims of the shooting at Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, Oregon.

New SC Music Faculty begins viol consort with students and community

Friday, September 11th, 2015

Director of Strings, Dr. Mark Elliot Bergman, brings a new, and rather old, style of music to Sheridan College. A group of students and community members will begin learning music for a group of instruments called viols. The six-stringed instruments are part a Renaissance and Baroque musical style originally performed for European royalty, said Bergman.
