AGRICULTURAL BUSINESS
SC’s Agricultural Business & Business Option Program prepares the student for a number of exciting career and educational opportunities. Our students can focus their individual courses of study to meet their own personal goals. By emphasizing specific areas, the students choices include: Agricultural Business, Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Sales, Farm and Ranch Management, Agricultural Communications, and Agricultural Education. We offer Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, and Associate of Applied Science degrees in the program. It is important to note that the majority of our students continue on to four year colleges and universities and we work closely with these schools to aid our transfers.
FOOD & MEAT SCIENCE EMPHASIS
SC’s Agriculture: Food Science option prepares students as entry-level food scientists or as transfer students into a baccalaureate program at a college or university. Food Science students benefit from classroom learning and then apply their skills in hands-on laboratory environments. A rewarding career awaits the student who pursues a degree in Food & Consumer Science at Sheridan College.

Sheridan College’s Agricultural Science Program allows Ag Science majors to tailor their course of study to match their own interests and goals. Whether the student is seeking a career spent outdoors, indoors or some combination of the two, a degree from Sheridan is a great first step.

ANIMAL SCIENCE
Sheridan College’s Agriculture: Animal Science option will expose the student to the latest advancements and techniques in Animal Science. Livestock Pathology, Nutrition, Reproduction, Production, Genetics, Anatomy, Physiology and other areas will be covered in class.
BIOTECHNOLOGY
Sheridan College’s Biotechnology Program offers a comprehensive course of study that leads to a Certificate of Completion in Biotechnology. The curriculum focuses on developing laboratory skills applicable to careers in biotechnology. Biotechnology students will develop skills in DNA and protein manipulation, database… applications, biomanufacturing, cell and tissue culture, and basic laboratory operating procedures. These skills can be used in a wide variety of disciplines, including agriculture, forensics, health science, and environmental science.
HORTICULTURE & SPORTS TURF MANAGEMENT
The results of trained horticulturists are all around us every day. Where an individual chooses to focus their energy determines which area of the horticultural field they will eventually work in. Horticulturalists are responsible for the parks we relax in, the golf and sports turfs we play on and the landscapes we enjoy. Much more than just “plant science”, horticultural students study the relationships between plants, soils, insects, animals and man. Unlike many agricultural fields that dictate living and working in a rural area, Hort. majors have the option of working literally anywhere in all of the fifty states. Presently, there are more job openings for Hort. majors than there are graduates.
NATURAL RESOURCES & RANCH LAND MANAGEMENT
SC’s Natural Resources & Ranch Mgmt. Program prepares students to transfer to bacheloriate programs and pursue careers in rangeland management. Sustainable management of our natural environment is necessary for ranching, agriculture, wildlife management, and enjoyment of our healthy and beautiful outdoor heritage. In t…his program students learn how to apply fundamental resource management skills. Students will have the opportunity to learn from experts in the field and participate in projects and practicums with area ranches, agencies, and industries.
