Application Process

The Dental Hygiene Program receives more applications each year than there are available student spaces. It is therefore necessary to employ strict admission requirements and selection procedures so that those applicants who are deemed best qualified to succeed in the Dental Hygiene program and profession may be selected.

It is the applicant’s responsibility to seek current information (download the NEW 2016 PROGRAM APPLICATION INFORMATION here) and to see that his/her file is complete and up-to-date. Advance planning and early submission of materials is strongly encouraged.

The Dental Hygiene program selects twenty-four (24) applicants based upon the following criteria:

  1. Dental Hygiene Program admission application. (Online Dental Hygiene Application)
  2. Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.50 for the pre-requisite course work only.

The following application material MUST be received by
February 15:

  • Application to Sheridan College.
  • Official transcripts from ALL colleges attended with a GPA of 2.50 or greater on the prerequisite courses only.
  • Application for the Dental Hygiene Program.

NOTE: All prerequisite courses MUST be completed in the spring semester for consideration for fall admission.
