NWCCD now offers variety of high school equivalency tests

Opportunities are expanding for community members looking to complete their high school equivalency.

The state of Wyoming now offers three tests: GED, HiSET, and soon will be offering the TASC exam. The Northern Wyoming Community College District, which includes Sheridan College, Gillette College and outreach centers in Johnson County, now offers two tests, the GED and HiSET, all of which meet the standards of high school equivalency. The TASC exam will be available in the middle of the fall semester at NWCCD.

“This is a great service to students who are looking to complete their high school equivalency,” said Sarah Riehn, NWCCD Director of Adult Basic Education.

For those who have taken the former GED but not completed it, there are still opportunities to complete it by the final testing day in December 2014 through the Combined Track Program. Please call the Sheridan or Gillette College Testing Centers to find out more information.

Additionally, the NWCCD offers a variety of services within the Adult Basic Education (ABE) program. The fall semester intake session begins on Sept. 2. Please call Sarah Riehn if you would like to know more information about these intake sessions to enroll in fall classes.
