Sheridan College closed for Winter Break

Sheridan College, along with Sheridan College in Johnson County and Gillette College, will be closed for Winter Break (Dec. 24 – 31) and New Year’s Day (Jan. 1). The colleges will resume regular hours Thursday, Jan. 2. Spring semester starts Monday, Jan. 20.

SC Wind and Jazz Ensembles to perform

The Sheridan College Wind Ensemble and Jazz Ensemble, directed by Dr. Michael P. Flynn, will perform their second of four concerts this year on Sunday, Dec. 8, at 7 p.m. at Sheridan Junior High School’s Early Auditorium. Dr. Flynn will be discussing the works to be performed at 6 p.m. Admission is free and the public is cordially invited to attend.

Sheridan College Foundation welcomes new director

The Sheridan College Foundation Board of Directors announced today the hiring of Tim Stransky as their new Executive Director.

Stransky is a Wyoming native, having grown up in Casper, where he graduated from Natrona County High School in 1978. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Wyoming in 1984. His higher education fundraising career has taken him to Conception Seminary College, Conception, MO; Mount Marty College, Yankton, SD; and the Dominican Campus, Nashville, TN.

SC soccer team gives back to community

The offseason for most collegiate sports programs includes workouts, training and film breakdown.

The Sheridan College women’s soccer team still maintains those athletic benchmarks, but the Generals have also added in children’s books, graham crackers and dodge ball.

Avalanche Awareness course coming to SC in Johnson County

In preparation for winter, Sheridan College in Johnson County will host an “Avalanche Awareness” course on Saturday, Nov. 23, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The course, which will be held at 235 Main St. in Buffalo, is free and open to the public. No registration is required.

SC to host Energy City Voices performance

Singing and dancing are coming to the Sheridan College Edward A. Whitney Academic Center Atrium. The Gillette College Energy City Voices will perform “One Singular Sensation” on Saturday, Nov. 23, at 7 p.m. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the door or at the Sheridan College front desk. Seating is limited.
