Lyman High School Wins 16th Annual Wyoming Academic Challenge

Lyman High School Wins 16th Annual Wyoming Academic Challenge

Lyman High School took top honors in the 16th Annual Wyoming Academic Challenge at Sheridan College Saturday.  The team, coached by Ted Holmstrom, took first place overall with team members Grant Holmstrom, Gabriel Holmstrom, Kaylor Holmstrom, and Brandon Radosevich.  Members of the team took home a trophy, medals, and one-year full tuition scholarships from Sheridan College.

Top small school and second place went to Tongue River High School #1 coached by Tim Maze, with members Sam Farnum, Donovan Powers, Kate Shinkaryova, and Sarah Maze.

Third place honors went to Greybull High School coached by Lynn Forcella.  Team members are Felix Weese, Dane Gifford, and Alex Havener.

Felix Weese from Greybull was also was named top individual for the competition and was also awarded a one-year full tuition scholarship from SC.

The state finals are held in Casper in April.  The top 18 teams will qualify – 12 large schools and six small schools.
