NWCCD receives Department of Education grant

The Northern Wyoming Community College District has been awarded a grant from the Wyoming Department of Education (WDE) to fund improvements to its distance education programs. The NWCCD is one of two community college districts in Wyoming to receive the grant, according to the WDE.

Three Gillette College athletic teams garnered 2013-14 NJCAA Academic Team of the Year honors recently. The teams with the top cumulative GPA in each sport earn the distinction from the NJCAA.

The Gillette College men’s and women’s rodeo teams shined at the College National Finals Rodeo in Casper last week.

Led by Taylor Engesser, who won the barrel racing championship, the GC women finished fifth in the team standings.

The Wyoming Shakespeare Festival Company will present “Mary Stuart,” the story of Mary, Queen of Scots, on Thursday, July 10, at 6 p.m. on the Gillette College campus, behind the main building.
