Campus Safety

The Northern Wyoming Community College District Police Department is committed to providing a safe; secure learning and working environment for every student, faculty member, staff and visitor. We would like to thank you for taking the time to look at this page.

The Northern Wyoming Community College District is the only Community College District in Wyoming that has a Police Department with Certified Wyoming Peace Officers that have the authority to investigate crimes and make arrests. Each Campus Police Officer trains continuously throughout the year to meet the unique challenges that campus law enforcement has to offer.  The NWCCD Police Department has officers on the Sheridan and Gillette College campuses.

The Campus Police Office at Gillette College is located in the Technical Building in the Northwest corner of the first floor, Room #113C.  Campus Police service is available 24 hours a day.  Back-up law enforcement is available from the City of Gillette Police Department and the Campbell County Sheriff’s Department.

Mission Statement:

We, the campus police department, exist to serve all people within our campus with respect, fairness and compassion. With service to the Students as our foundation, we are driven by goals to enhance the quality of life, investigating problems as well as incidents, seeking solutions and fostering a sense of security on our campus.
