The Admissions Process

Step 1: Admissions Office
Ext. 1000Complete the application for admission

Complete your Applicant File

Please submit the following:

❒ Official high school transcript or High School Equivalency (HiSEC)

❒ Official college transcripts (if applicable)

❒ ACT or SAT scores (if applicable)

❒ Compass placement exams (if applicable)

*Graduating high school seniors may be able to use ACT scores of 18 English and 21 Math for placement. If you have already successfully completed a college-level math and/or English course, official transcripts are needed for verification.

Schedule an appointment to meet with your Admissions Counselor to discuss your program of interest, application verification, and answer any questions you may have.

Step 2: Financial Aid Office/Scholarships
Ext. 1420 All students are encouraged to apply for federal aid using the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), or apply on-line at as early as possible ~ NWCCD(Sheridan and GilletteColleges) school code 003930Apply for institutional scholarships – Priority Deadline of April 1st.

Payments plans, if needed, are available in the Business office.

Step 3: Advising and Assessment
Placement: Ext. 1455
Schedule an appointment to complete the math and English placement exams (if a first-time college student or if you have not completed a college-level math and/or English course) A $5.00 fee is assessed for each exam, and a picture ID is required. ACT scores may also be used for placement; please consult this office for required scores.Advising: Ext. 1410, 1411, & 1412Schedule an appointment to meet with your academic advisor to plan your class scedule and make your educational plan. Step 4: Registration and Records Office
Ext. 1431 & 1432 Register for classes by submitting the course registration form with an advisor signature. 

If transferring courses from another college, please contact your academic advisor for transcript evaluation equivalencies.
Step 5: Business Office
Ext. 1442 & 1443Tuition, housing and other expenses must be paid (or arranged to be paid) on or before the payment deadline date.
Step 6:

Ext. 1441 

Purchase textbooks from the Gillette College Bookstore, located in the GC Main Building.
Step 7: Housing
Ext. 2351If interested in living on-campus, complete the housing application and submit $125 deposit.
