Pete Simpson to speak at Gillette College graduation

Retired historian and former Wyoming politician Pete Simpson will serve as the commencement speaker at Gillette College next month.

Pete Simpson studio portraitsSimpson, a University of Wyoming alum and one-time gubernatorial nominee in the Equality State, will address the Gillette College graduates in the Spirit Hall at the Cam-plex on Friday, May 9, at 7 p.m.

The ceremony is free and open to the public.

A native of Cody, Simpson was a member of the Wyoming House of Representations from 1981-1984 and held multiple positions at the University of Wyoming, including executive director of the UW Foundation. He received the Medallion Service Award from UW in 2011, for his “outstanding service and dedication to the university,” according to UW.
