NWCCD welcomes new Academic Vice President

The Northern Wyoming Community College District announced today the hiring of Dr. Richard Hall as the new Vice President for Academic Affairs.

SC VPAA Dr. HallDr. Hall will join the College District from Cochise College in Douglas, Ariz., where he is serving as the Dean of Mathematics, Sciences and Health Sciences, a position he has held since July 2010. Prior to that position, Hall served as the Assistant Dean of Mathematics, Sciences, Social and Behavioral Sciences. Cochise College is a two-campus district, enrolling approximately 15,000 students.

“We are pleased to welcome Dr. Hall both to northern Wyoming and to our College community,” said Dr. Paul Young, NWCCD president. “We have so many great things happening right now at our College; Richard’s leadership, enthusiasm and perspective will make him a valuable member of our team.”

A former mathematics instructor, Hall received his doctorate degree from Capella University in 2010, his Master of Secondary Education Degree from Northern Arizona University in 1995 and his Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Oklahoma City University in 1993.

“I am extremely excited about this opportunity,” Dr. Hall said. I look forward to serving the students, faculty, staff and communities of the Northern Wyoming Community College District.”

Hall is married to wife Kim. They have two children, Lindsey (12 years) and Rich (10 years). The family is active in their church and enjoys participating in athletic events. Dr. Hall enjoys hunting, fishing, and riding motorcycles.

Hall is eager to move to Wyoming and looks forward to working with President Paul Young and his team. His tenure at NWCCD will begin on or about June 1.
