Gillette College Foundation hires new Executive Director Heidi Gross
Gillette College is pleased to announce the hiring of Heidi Gross, who will serve as the GC Foundation Executive Director.
Gross, an Aberdeen, S.D., native who has lived in Gillette for the past 24 years, will start on Jan. 9, 2014.
“What I am most excited about is that I am going to be doing something new, worthwhile and challenging,” said Gross, currently the administrative manager at Jordan’s Western Dining. “It’s a personal belief that post-secondary education is very important.”
“Anything I can do to help people achieve their higher education goals is very meaningful work.”
Gross holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Northern State University in South Dakota. She has a variety of experience in operational management, human resources and sales.
Gillette College Vice President and CEO Dr. Mark Englert said he is looking forward to working with the vibrant and enthusiastic Gross in growing the GC Foundation and advancing the college’s goals.
“We are very pleased that Heidi is joining our family at Gillette College,” Dr. Englert said. “She is very positive and goal-oriented. These are attributes we like and believe will assist Heidi in being successful.
“It’s an opportunity for transition for the Foundation. We have to continue to grow our grants and scholarships, focus on program enhancements and energize our capital funding efforts. With the rising costs of education, the students’ ability to cover those increased costs with their own resources can really become a challenge. Enhancing our ability to support students and staff is a critical responsibility Heidi will have in her new role.”
A mother of two, Gross is familiar with Gillette College, having taken several classes as part of her continuing education. She is ready to hit the ground running.
“Heidi’s task is to provide essential leadership so we can effectively grow the Foundation into a multi-million dollar supporting entity,” said Foundation Board President Nick Kasperik.
Dr. Englert added: “It’s ambitious. She’s here for that reason and President Kasperik and I agree she has the energy, enthusiasm and connections that will all pay dividends for the college and most importantly, our staff and students.”
