NWCCD receives American Association of Community Colleges grant

The Northern Wyoming Community College District received word this week that they are the recipients of a Plus 50 Encore Completion Program Grant from the American Association of Community Colleges. The grant provides $15,000 over the course of three years and will be used to develop new programming and promote the training and retraining of citizens in the Sheridan area that are over the age of 50, in primarily healthcare related fields.

Veterans presentation held at Gillette College Monday after Veterans Day

To recognize Veterans Day, on Monday, November 12, Gillette College will host a presentation on Citizen Soldiers and Iraq Deployments in the Presentation Hall at 4:30 p.m. The public and all veterans are invited to attend.

Gillette College group ‘Energy City Voices’ hosts first concert

Gillette College’s new show choir/musical theater revue ensemble is designed to give students a chance to perform various genres of music at the collegiate level. The group, known as Energy City Voices, will begin their first season with an intensive week-long retreat and rehearsal at the college district’s beautiful Spear-O Wigwam Mountain Campus July 8-14. Following the retreat in the mountains, the group will perform its first concert at the Gillette College Technical Education Center on Saturday, July 14 at 7:00 p.m. The concert is free and open to the public.
