GI Bill

Chapter 33, Post 9/11 GI Bill

  • Serve at least 90 days active duty
    36 months of benefits
    Pays tuition/fees, monthly housing allowance, and book/supplies stipend
    Only covers in-state tuition and fees
    Expires 15 years from last discharge or separation

Chapter 30, Montgomery GI Bill – Active Duty

  • 2+ years of active duty
    36 months of benefits
    Expires 10 years from last discharge or separation

Chapter 1606, Montgomery GI Bill – Reserves

  • Members currently serving in the Reserves or Guard
    36 months of benefits

Chapter 1607, Reserve Education Assistance Plan (REAP)

  • Eligibility varies depending on reserve status after completing a period of active duty

Chapter 35, Dependents Education Assistance (DEA)

  • Provides education for spouses and dependendt children
    36 months of benefits

Chapter 32, Veterans Educational Assistance Plan (VEAP)

  • For service between Jan 1, 1977 and June 30, 1985
    Expires 10 years from discharge or last separation

Vocational Rehabilitation & Employment Service

Chapter 31, Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment

  • Provides educational and vocational training for veterans with a service connected disability.
