$3.4 Million for Gillette College of NWCCD!
In 2004 the Wyoming Legislature voted to create the Wyoming Community College Endowment Challenge
Program. This initiative gives each community college
the opportunity to raise $4.5 million dollars for an endowment (permanent fund) and have it matched,
dollar-for-dollar, by the state.


Because Sheridan College has a tri-county service area, the Board of Trustees, along with the administration of the College, decided to divide the $4.5 million dollar match based on full-time enrollment. The breakdown is as follows:

  • Sheridan College $2.7 million match
  • Gillette Campus $1.7 million match
  • Johnson County $100,000 match

Therefore, it is up to Campbell County to raise $1.7
million! Including the State match, the Gillette College
will have $3.4 million of endowed funds which would
generate an additional $136,000 each year (based on 4%
return on investment).
