Carpentry Apprenticeship
Some builders and general contractors in northern Wyoming are almost three years behind on beginning projects. Why? Because there’s a big demand for new houses and new buildings and there’s an extreme shortage of skilled construction workers to get the job done right.

Sheridan College’s newly developed Construction Technology program, which will begin in the fall of this year, is designed to prepare students for real-world positions in the construction field.

With the Carpentry Apprenticeship program at Sheridan College students can have the flexibility to work full time while attending apprenticeship classes to better their skills, and at the same time be eligible for a certificate as a journeyman carpenter, which is recognized nationally. The apprenticeship takes 4 years to complete. You'll take a six credit class every fall for 4 years. At the same time, you'll be logging hours with the Federal Bureau of Apprenticeship training 2000hrs/year.  When all the requirements are met you'll receive a certificate of apprenticeship as a journeyman carpenter.

This program will not just provide the book knowledge of how to do things, but will help you excel and become a leader in the construction industry.

Even if you’re currently employed as a construction worker and just want to brush up or learn new skills, this program will help you reach your goals.
