You don’t need to go to medical school to become a medical transcriptionist, but with the knowledge of medical terms you’ll possess as a working medical transcriptionist, you’ll feel like you have.

Medical transcriptionists play a major role in the medical field by working directly with health care providers. They work in hospitals, clinics, physician practices, and transcription services, as well as from their homes as independent contractors.

The profession requires an intimate understanding of medical terms and excellent English language skills.
