Humanities
It’s O.K. not to know what you want to
major in in college. In fact, the average
college student changes their major
three times before graduating. It’s not
that students are indecisive about their
future, it’s that they’ve got a strong
desire to learn about a variety of
subjects.
For those who are like the millions of
college students who begin college
without knowing what to major in, there
is an answer: Humanities.
The Humanities program at Sheridan
College offers a variety of courses
in the areas traditionally defined as liberal arts and is designed to give
students a broad, general exposure to Western culture before they decide
to specialize in any one academic area.
Humanities students are able to work through their core college
requirements such as English Composition I and II, mathematics and
history, and have the scheduling flexibility to take elective courses in
specific areas of interest.
Humanities students select courses in areas concerned with the aesthetic,
visual, intellectual, literary and historical traditions of our culture.
