A familiar face will soon be returning to Sheridan College’s Bruce Hoffman Golden Dome.

Former Sheridan College assistant coach, Ryan Davis, has been hired as the head women’s basketball coach and will begin his duties immediately.

Davis, a Kansas native, served as an assistant coach for the Sheridan College men’s basketball team during the 2010-2011 season and assistant coach for the women’s basketball team during the 2014-2015 season.  Davis was an assistant coach for one year at Black Hills State University, and served as the assistant coach for the Casper College women’s basketball team before returning to the Sheridan College Generals program.

“We are eager to have Ryan back at Sheridan College,” said Athletic Director, Jenni Winter. “Ryan brings a high basketball IQ, strong leadership ability and a familiarity with SC athletics.”

Davis holds a Bachelor’s degree in sports management from the University of Kansas, where he was a manager of the Kansas Jayhawks men’s basketball team. Davis is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Kinesiology.

“I am so thankful to return to Sheridan for the third time in my coaching career,” said Davis. “The opportunity that president Young and Jenni Winter have given me is one that will not be taken for granted. Sheridan is a very special place to me both from a basketball and personal perspective. I cannot wait to get going as a General!”
