Anne Raga, Campbell County Health Director of Nursing, has been named Gillette College’s Distinguished Alum.
Raga, a 1989 graduate of the Gillette College Nursing Program, will be honored at Gillette College’s annual Alumni Reception, on Thursday, April 27, at 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Carter Health Science Building on the main Gillette Campus.
The reception is free and open to the public, and light appetizers and refreshments will be served.
“We are elated to take the opportunity to recognize one of our outstanding graduates and the impact she is making in our community,” said Dr. Mark Englert, Gillette College CEO and vice president. “Anne is the perfect candidate to honor with our Distinguished Alum award.”
Raga has been a nurse for over 30 years. In addition to her degree from GC, she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing and Master of Science Degree in nursing leadership from Regis University in Denver. She is also certified as a nurse leader through the American Organization of Nurse Executives.
In October 2014, Raga was elected as the President of the Wyoming Nurses Association, the State’s largest professional nursing organization, a position she held through October 2016.
“Anne demonstrates all the attributes of a ‘distinguished alumna’ for Gillette College,” said Louise Posten, GC Director of Nursing. “She is a valued member of our community, and her support for our students and College are part of what makes our program successful.”
In addition to the reception on the 27th, Raga will be honored at Gillette College’s 27th annual Commencement Ceremony, on Friday, May 12, at 7 p.m. at the new GC Pronghorn Center.
