The study of animal behavior is a complex and often misunderstood field. Dr. Kristiansen has done faculty lectures in the past discussing the study of animal behavior in general, how it applies to humans, and why it is important. This lecture will focus on feline behavior; in particular, feline sensory systems, how they differ from ours, and how those systems motivate behaviors that typically baffle cat owners. Join us as we explore the species history of the cat, and discuss their evolution and domestication, as well as their social interactions with other cats, other species, and humans. Attendees will take away new knowledge of animal behavior that is applicable to all species, not just cats.
